BULLISH Bruno Guimaraes is sure Newcastle can surprise the top six next season – warning this is just the start for the minted Magpies.
And after Saudi-owned Toon went from prime relegation candidates to finishing 11th last term under Eddie Howe, Bruno reckons they can now smash their way into Europe.
He said: “We can surprise the others. We have quality and the coach is so intelligent, we can do it.
“We dream of the Champions League.
“We know the big six have good teams so we need to be calm – step by step we can arrive there.
“This is only the beginning. We can dream higher.”
The samba star, 24, proposed to his girlfriend, Ana, in Greece on his summer holidays and is also due to have a baby.
Fully settled in the North East, his English has improved dramatically since January after taking lessons almost every day.
And speaking from Newcastle’s pre-season training camp in Austria, Bruno added: “I feel home now.

“The last time I felt this way was when I played for Audax, my first club in Brazil.
“I am getting married in the next year and we are waiting for our baby too.
“We are so happy, it is such a special moment, the most special time in my personal and professional life.
“At Newcastle, I am living my dreams.”
He came off the bench against 1860 Munich on Friday in his first game since the international summer, bagging a goal and assist in a sparkling 29 minute cameo.
The Toon Army favourite admitted the training camp has left him “dead” and in need of a long lie down.
And looking ahead to the World Cup, he said: “I don’t have words to speak about the World Cup because when I was a child I always dreamt about this moment, and it arriving. It is special.
“When I am sleeping, I am thinking about winning it.”
