THIS is the shocking moment desperate shoppers fought for discounted food at a Tesco supermarket.

Adults grabbed and pushed each other in front of kids as they scrambled for cheap yellow sticker items at the store amid the cost of living crisis.

A Tesco staff member had to quickly move out of the way as the shoppers pounced on the food.

Almost six million TikTok users have viewed the video since it was uploaded.

Some said the urgent battle for discounted food was a common occurrence in supermarkets across the UK given the struggles many families are facing to put food on the table.

One user commented: “In Tesco near me they put a big yellow barrier up for staff safety doing the reduced section until they’re done – it’s crazy that they need to do that!”

A second agreed and posted: “When I worked in the reduced section some women rammed her trolley into the back of my leg around Christmas time because I was in her way!”

“Omg I work at Tesco and they’re like vultures!” A third commented.

Somebody else shared their story about the time they were punched in the head while re-stocking the reduced section.

Another claimed they had one woman flipped a tray in her face to get to fruit underneath it.

On the other hand, one TikToker pointed out: “Times are hard for everyone it’s just going to get worse over time.”

“That’s so sad, we don’t know their circumstances, so let’s not judge,” another sympathised.

A third highlighted: “With cost of living this will only get worse.”

Tesco has been contacted for comment.

This comes as the cost of living crisis will result in millions of Brits struggling this winter, including Lorraine Foster.
