UFC’s Conor McGregor says he’s ‘Wonderboy on juice’ with “insane foot grip” following post-leg break body transformation

CONOR MCGREGOR has claimed to have developed an “insane” foot grip following his horrific broken leg.

The UFC’s poster boy shattered his left tibia and fibula last July in his Las Vegas trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

McGregor, 34, has undergone painstaking rehab to get his leg back to normal and himself fighting fit.

But he claims the long and ardous process has given him a better “high-ball” foot grip than karate specialist Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson.

In a since-deleted tweet, The Notorious wrote: “Footanklecalf strength/control is the base for everything.

“Most ignore. The break forced me to go here and go alone.

“Days after the break I’m tryna grip things with my toes.

“Now I’ve developed insane grip to the earth in [the] high ball of foot stance. I’m Wonderboy on juice. Nastier.”

Irishman McGregor has undergone a dramatic body transformation during his hiatus from the cage.

The former feather and lightweight king has packed on several pounds of muscle thanks to gruelling strength workouts in the gym and has blown away several, including UFC commentator Joe Rogan, with his new physique.

During a recent episode of his Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he said: “Look how jacked he is!”

He added: “Look at the size of him. Bro, look at the size of that guy. He’s 200 plus pounds.”

McGregor is hoping to return to the octagon early next year but needs to enrol in the promotion’s drug testing pool for six months before he can compete.

The UFC’s first simultaneous world champion said in October: “I’m going to be back soon, hopefully.

“Early 2023 I’m aiming for. Sometime in that first quarter.

“That will give me a good couple of months [to prepare].

“Once I wrap this [filming Road House] up in a couple of days, get the camp going [for] a good couple of months. And get going.”

McGregor, however, is seemingly hoping to receive an exemption to the requirement – which would permit him to return earlier provided he turns in two negative tests.

The Irishman said last month: “I’m clear for testing in February.

“I will complete my two tests per USADA & we are booking a fight.”
