A WOKE school has sparked parents’ outrage by banning teachers from using sarcasm.
It has barred age-old rib-tickling of pupils in class as part of a “guide to support staff”.
The move at Skegness Academy in Lincolnshire comes despite mums and dads saying “sarcastic teachers” are among their favourites.
One parent said: “The whole point of school is to prepare children for the world outside, not to wrap them in cotton woke wool.
“And talk about putting staff at a disadvantage — sarcasm is one of the only fun and kind ways to deal with some difficult pupils.”
Another parent added: “It’s ridiculous. Sometimes a bit of sarcasm is the only way of bringing unruly kids into line.”

The ban is outlined in a doctrine known as the “Skegness Academy Way”, which specifically says sarcasm cannot be used when talking to pupils.
Executive principal Emma Day said: “The SKA Way is not a policy but a guide to support staff with delivering on our ethos.
“The reference to sarcasm is because it can be difficult for children with special educational needs to process or interpret it.”
The school confirmed the ban applied to all pupils.
