EMMERDALE fans have broken down in tears at Paddy Kirk’s shocking revelation tonight.
In the all-male episode aired on Friday night, Paddy’s friends rallied round to try to help him open up.
Liam opened up about how he was saved from a suicide attempt at university, Jimmy told how he struggles with the loss of his three brothers and Sam flashed everyone by showing them a nasty boil on his privates.
And all of them opening up worked to bring Paddy back to them.
He was convinced to open up and he made a heartbreaking and devastating confession from his past.
“I couldn’t see a future for myself that I could live with,” he said.

“It seemed very certain that that’s what I had to do. Al bought a house for Chas, I don’t know if any of you knew that.
“And they were going to live in it with Eve.”
But Paddy revealed that he had a much darker plan in mind than just exposing Chas’ affair – admitting he wanted to “hurt her”.
“After I found out about the affair, I took Chas to the house, she had no idea I was going to take her – I just wanted to hurt her,” he said.

“I wanted to hurt her as much as she hurt me. I didn’t think I could do it. I kept telling myself I’d found the courage to do something, and to deal with something even if it meant losing everything.
“I think it was driving back from the cottage with Chas, I was trying to keep my eyes on the road but my head – for a moment I could just see the car swerve to the other lane. How could I do that to Eve?”
The shocking confession left the men stunned but it was Cain who comforted Paddy, insisting he was a great dad but just in pain.
By the end Paddy could see a way through another week – and the scenes left fans watching at home in tears.
One wrote: “Oh my days, I am so emotional,” as a second chimed in: “I am bawling. Well done Emmerdale.”
A second said: “Cain hugging Paddy absolutely broke me. Well done to all the cast, brilliant programme tonight.”
Another added: “That made me both laugh and cry. Thank you Emmerdale for an important episode.”
