DARWIN NUNEZ has credited Marcelo Bielsa for his two-goal cameo off the bench against Newcastle.
The Uruguayan striker scored twice late on as Liverpool snatched a dramatic victory at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
He has now revealed that a Zoom chat with Bielsa inspired his performance.
The former Leeds manager “corrected things” for Nunez during their video call.
The Reds forward explained: “He showed me some of my games and corrected some things.
“It was a very good talk. A lot of people told me he is a serious guy. It is a new national team set up, I hope it goes well for us.”

Nunez’s brace against Newcastle were his first goals of the season.
The 24-year-old showed off his impressive pace and finishing during his stunning cameo.
His strikes have taken his tally for Liverpool to 17 goals in 45 appearances since signing from Benfica last summer.
Nunez will be hoping to continue his form in front of goal on Sunday as Liverpool face Aston Villa away from home.
