FROM overgrown trees to privacy fences, there are a whole host of reasons that neighbours can have crossed words.
But perhaps the most unexpected disagreement goes to a woman named Dominique, who told how her neighbour recently kicked off over her very innocent, beige doormat.
In a clip shared to TikTok (@itszukobaby8), she posted a photo of the ‘offending’ item outside her front door.
“I bought a new mat for my door two days ago,” she says.
“The devil works fast but my middle-aged presumably unemployed neighbour works faster.”
The baffled woman then shared a text exchange with her landlord, who notified her that he’d received a complaint about the fact it was outside her door.

It read: “Hey Dominique – how are you doing? Hope you’re well. I am sorry to ask actually embarrassed to ask but the neighbours have contacted me to ask that the mat outside the flat door go inside.
“Please accept my apologies.”

Dominique replied: “Haha hi Scotty! Hope you’re well! I bought that the other week! What an interesting complaint! May I ask who complained?”
She captioned the post: “You know it’s bad when even the landlord is embarrassed.”

It wasn’t long before the post went viral, racking up over 715k views and hundreds of comments from very amused social media users.
“That is the most innocent, unassuming mat I’ve ever seen, this is hilarious,” wrote one.
Dominique responded: “You almost need a microscope!”
A second penned: “1980’s red carpet, a blue front door, with blue wallpaper, and they are worried about a BEIGE doormat?”
A third joked: “I would get one printed that says ‘this is my outside mat.'”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “I can honestly say I wouldn’t even have noticed the mat??”
Another chimed in: “But why?!!!”
Dominique quipped: “Only satan knows.”
And a further added: “I would get an extra mat now.”
