A POLICE force that failed to attend a 999 call made by a dad suspected of a triple murder is reporting itself to the watchdog over another killing.
It is the second time that Norfolk Constabulary has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct in 24 hours — and the third time in a month.
The latest referral came after a woman in her 30s was found strangled in Great Yarmouth on Saturday morning.
A man aged 40 has been charged with murder and will appear before magistrates in Norwich today.
The force voluntarily referred itself to the IOPC as there had been contact before the death.
A day earlier it informed the watchdog because officers failed to attend a 6am 999 call made by Bartlomiej Kuczynski, 45, in Costessy, near Norwich.
They arrived at 7.15am but only after being called by someone else. Officers forced entry and found the bodies of Kuczynski, his daughters, seven and 12, and a 36-year-old woman.
Kuczynski, said to have had mental health problems, is thought to have taken his own life after killing them.
He and the woman died from stab wounds to the neck. Post-mortem examinations will be carried out on the girls on Wednesday.
Norfolk’s force had already made an IOPC referral over previous contact in December when Kuczynski went missing.
Meanwhile, Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper suggested having domestic abuse experts in 999 control rooms.
