The Apprentice’s first fired candidate reveals how he has turned show failure into brand new business

THE Apprentice’s first fired entrepreneur has already turned his major show fail into a business

Tonight, Oliver Medforth was axed from the BBC One competition by Lord Alan Sugar after failing to impress in the corporate away day task.

It all went wrong when the drink’s company co-founder left out the flour when he was tasked with making a batch of brownies.

And when he stepped into the boardroom, the rest of the boys couldn’t actually recall what he’d done as part of the task, set in the Scottish Highlands.

But that hasn’t stopped Oliver from turning the fail into a positive after he was the first to be fired.

He said: “It was upsetting to go out first, but it’s given me an opportunity to go on to do something else – and I’ve actually got an alternative flourless chocolate brownie business.

“It came about off the back of what happened on the show where I was left on my own to do the dessert, and I wouldn’t have been doing this if I hadn’t been fired first.

“The brownies are already out now and available to buy.”

Oliver was brought back into the boardroom by project manager for the task, DJ Virdi Mazaria – who led the team to an epic failure, making a LOSS of £600.

When Steve Darken was announced as safe to continue in the process by Lord Sugar, it was between spirits maker Oliver and Virdi in a tense battle of words.

And while Virdi threw the blame at Oliver, he’s not angry about their exchange and backs his former co-star to go on and win.

Oliver added: “I wish him the very best, I want to have at least been out for the chap who went on to get the investment.”

The Apprentice continues next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
