I tried a quick and easy trick to clear snow from my sidewalks – if it’s stupid but it works, it’s no longer stupid

A REAL estate expert has learned something new and he doesn’t care if it looks stupid.

He tried a quick and easy trick to clear snow from his sidewalk.

The handheld gadget is usually used to great effect in the fall.

But as a snow-clearing tool, it turned out to be also perfect.

Therefore, it wasn’t such a dumb method after all, said Russ Gray (@tulsarealestate).

“If it’s stupid but it works, it’s no longer stupid,” he said with satisfaction.

Russ is a Tulsa Real estate expert and has been around the block a few times when it comes to property.

But he surprised even himself when his home state experienced a light snowfall.

It may not have been an epic dump that some states are used to, but it was plenty for Oklahoma.

“We got a few inches of snow this weekend in Tulsa,” she said, looking out on snow-clogged sidewalks and drives.

“This was the good powdery kind of snow,” he said, the right sort for his gadget.

“So it’s easier to remove from driveways and sidewalks,” he added.

“This was an opportunity to break out the small leaf blower,” he said.

“It’s an unconventional use for a rather conventional tool in my garage,” he said, conceding it was a novel way of using this gadget.

‘If this helps one person, I’ll be happy,’ says snow pro sharing driveway shoveling tips and common mistake to avoid

Wrapped up against the cold, he was excited to try his idea out.

“I wanted to see if I could clear a bit of path up the drive and on the sidewalk and front porch,” he said.

As he got to work, the leaf blower cut through the snow like a hot knife through butter.

“My Kobalt Tools 24v leaf blower actually did pretty well overall,” he wrote.

“It made for clearing the lighter spots pretty quick and easy,” he said.

It was a lot kinder to the body too, he figured.

“It’s a lot less backbreaking than getting the shovel out and digging,” he said.

But one commenter asked him if he had “never heard of a snowblower?”

He was swift to respond.

“Not worth the purchase in Oklahoma where we see snow two or three times a year.”

Another commenter from the US’s most northerly state said kudos to Russ.

“We Alaskans have been doing this ever since the huge air flow ones came out. A Stihl backpack is best,” he said.

One viewer used another garden tool for the job.

“Definitely not stupid. I use a pressure washer to blow the leaves off my front yard. Takes seconds,” he said.

But one fan was grateful.

“I’ll use it on my stairs and desk. Thanks for the hack,” he said.
