Shocking moment car ‘full of schoolchildren’ rams into brick wall – as youngsters flee ‘before one returns to get his school bag’

This is the shocking moment a car full of youngsters rams into a brick wall before fleeing the scene.

Footage captured on a nearby Ring Doorbell appears to show the driver of a blue BMW lose control and plough directly into a brick wall on the corner of Littlefield Road and Lamers Road in Luton.

The crash sends dozens of bricks flying into the air, with one hitting a white car parked on the driveway, while wrecking the front of the blue BMW.

A group of young lads can then be seen hastily jumping out of the car and running away from the scene of the crash, leaving the vehicle in a crumpled mess as smoke begins to rise from the bonnet.

A separate video of the incident recorded by homeowner Angela Collins, shows four ‘schoolkids’ racing down the road, before one boy, dressed in a grey hoodie, returns to the car for his bag and coat.

Angela also recorded a video of the aftermath of the horrendous crash.

It showed police officers inspecting the extent of the damage as dozens of bricks can be seen covering her driveway.

She later posted on Facebook detailing what happened, claiming one person had been arrested.

Angela wrote: ‘Anyone wondering…. this is what happened to my wall.

‘Around 5/6 young looking lads have lost control of the car and come round the corner into the wall and left, however one did manage to come back for his backpack to make sure he gets his home work done.

‘No one was hurt luckily and apparently someone has been arrested so will be waiting on an update.

‘Thank you to everyone who stopped and asked if we’re okay and helped to clean up.’

The distressed homeowner also claimed her niece’s car was damaged during the crash, which supposedly took place on Monday March at 3:14pm.

‘the one left behind went first he came bk for his school bag so his name wasn’t found out’

‘School are making good progress with police’

MailOnline has contacted Bedfordshire Police for comment.
