‘Blue’s Clues’ Star Steve Burns Praised For “Checking In” On Fans Amid Shocking Allegations Made In ‘Quiet On Set’

Blue’s Clues star Steve Burns has been inundated with comments and praise after the Nickelodeon alum shared a video on social media “checking in” on fans amid the shocking allegations raised in Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.

“Hey, I’m checking in. Tell me what’s going on,” Burns says in the video shared on TikTok. The video then shows him staring into the camera as if he were listening attentively to someone venting their frustrations, backed by moody music.

He ended the video with a farewell, saying, “Alright well, it’s good to hear from you. You look great, by the way.”

The video has reached 547.4 thousand likes on TikTok since it was shared on Thursday (March 21).

The comments were flooded with Nickelodeon fans, many of which vented about their real-life troubles, while others expressed how conflicted they felt since Quiet on Set premiered this week, unveiling the hostile work environment under which many popular children’s shows were created under in the 2000s.

“I needed this today after finding out Nickelodeon being all lies,” one fan commented.

“They need you. The kids who are grown now who watched Nickelodeon. Thanks for being here,” another fan wrote. Others agreed, writing, “After the Nickelodeon thing we need our Steve now more than ever.”

“Not me sitting laying bed at almost 3 a.m. in tears because Steve from Blues Clues shows up on my fyp asking what’s going on? The one thing that we have left that is pure from our childhood,” one comment read.

Many in the comments noted how emotional Burns’ video made them feel. “Not me crying the instant he asked,” a viewer wrote.

Even Jersey Shore star Jenni Farley, known as J Woww commented, writing, “And I’m crying.”

Quiet on Set marked the first time Drake Bell came forward about being sexually assaulted by a former Nickelodeon employee when he was a teenager. A number of shocking accusations were also made against television creator Dan Schneider, who was behind several popular Nickelodeon series at the time.

Burns is best known for his role hosting the children’s television show Blue’s Clues on Nick Jr from 1996 to 2002. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on the show.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV is now streaming on Max.
