Shocking moment violent thug asks young barman to shake his hand – then grabs the lad by his hair and shakes him

This is the shocking moment that a drunken thug violently grabs and shakes a young barman by his hair.

The shocking scenes unfolded at The Dolphin pub on Tonbridge Street, London, yesterday evening.

The bartender, reported to be the son of the bar’s owner, was caught in a vice-like grip until his father intervened, who labelled the pair of aggressors ‘a***holes’.

Shocking video shows the build-up to the incident where a man off-camera announces to the pub that he is leaving.

Seemingly coming off the back of a previous off-screen clash, the man says: ‘Yeah, we’re leaving now, but can I just apologise.’

However, he clearly has other plans as mutters to his pal: ‘Here come round this side, film this, film this.’

As the camera turns, a young bartender can be seen with three glasses walking towards the end of the bar.

The cameraman begins to shout at him, saying, ‘What, he just wanted to say he’s sorry’, whilst his pal adds: ‘Are you going to shake my hand?’

The anonymous man then offers his hand over the bar towards the barman, who places a glass under his arm and reaches out to accept the apology.

Just as he puts his hand out, the man quickly pulls his hand away and grabs a fistful of the pub worker’s hair.

He brutally locks on and shakes the helpless bartender before pulling him over the bar by his hair.

The brutal attack is halted as the publican comes through from the back and can be heard saying: ‘Here, here come on, come on.’

Whilst carrying an ice bucket in one hand, he effortlessly breaks the hold of the brute allowing his member of staff to retreat to safety.

The publican doesn’t hold back on his thoughts of the men, saying: ‘See, you’re an a***hole like.’

Despite being rebuked, the men aim a final parting shot at the younger man, with the cameraman shouting: ‘Hey you, you were looking for that, you curly-headed rat.’

The vile video was shared on social media last night where it received over 1,200 likes and 997,000 views from sickened social media users.

One said: ‘The Dolphin, very close to St. Pancras in London, the barman and his son are two of the nicest people you could meet – terrible to see that nonsense directed at them.’

Another added: ‘Safety in numbers, when they are cornered on their own would they be as brave?’

A third replied: ‘He should’ve put that glass to good use,’ while another commented: ‘That’s horrible.’

A fifth responded: ‘Poor guy, no one should have to put up with that in their place of work.’

The Dolphin is a dog-friendly pub which currently boasts a 4.2 star rating with more than 700 reviews.
