The horror crimes dated back to the 1970s, and it took decades for the brave man to come forward.

The moment Davison was arrested is now being shown on Channel 4‘s 24 Hours in Police Custody.

It also revealed the shocking moment his wife of “forever” was told why he’d been brought into the Bedfordshire Police Station.

While Davison is being quizzed over his crimes behind closed doors, his wife came in to ask officers what was happening.

One cops whispers to Detective Constable Sharon Ellis: “His wife’s turned up in the front office – she’s hysterical.”

As footage flips to CCTV of the waiting room, the elderly woman can be heard wailing: “What’s going on?”

DC Ellis brings the woman into the room, speaking gently to her.

She says: “A complaint has been made to the police, by someone who’s known to you.”

“That your husband has historically sexually abused them. The reason for the arrest is to allow your husband the opportunity to give his version of events, his account as to what did or didn’t happen.”

The wife can be heard sobbing and saying “oh god” as the top cop explains what’s happening.

I thought he was my friend, but he abused my trust by taking advantage of me, my young age, my vulnerability, and took my innocence.

DC Ellis then says: “You’ve been married to Bruce for a long time haven’t you?”

To which Davison’s wife replies through tears: “Forever. Forever.”

In October 2016 Davison was convicted of targeting, grooming and sexually abusing a child.

He was handed two six-year sentences which were to be served concurrently.

The abuse took place from the time the boy was seven years old, up until the age of 13.

In a statement read to Luton Crown Court, the victim described how the monster had destroyed his life: “I thought [it] was the norm, I didn’t know any better… I trusted him.

When can you see Davison on 24 Hours in Police Custody?

A repeat of the episode is being shown on Channel 4 at 10pm and Channel 4 +1 at 11pm on Tuesday April 2 2024.

It is also being shown at 1.30am on 4-Seven on Wednesday April 3.

“I thought he was my friend, but he abused my trust by taking advantage of me, my young age, my vulnerability, and took my innocence.

“I feel robbed of my childhood and robbed by Davison, he took away my dignity and self-respect as a child and even as a teenager, because his abuse of me spanned so many years.”

Then, following the broadcast of the show in 2017, another of Davison’s victims came forward.

The man was abused while working his Saturday job in Luton — where Davison worked — in the mid-1990s when he was about 13 years old.

More than 20 years later the man walked into his dad’s house while the show was on, recognised his abuser Davison, and his father encouraged him to contact the police.

Judge Steven Evans told Davison: “You were in a position of power. I have read his victim personal statement. In short, your actions have had a lifelong impact on him.

I feel robbed of my childhood and robbed by Davison, he took away my dignity and self-respect as a child and even as a teenager.

Davison’s victim

“You have had a long-held sexual interest in young male children – you targeted him.”

Davison was found guilty of indecent assault at the  Luton Crown Court, and sentenced to another 15 months behind bars.

DC Ellis, who led both investigations, said: “It’s something I had never come across before in my lengthy career.

“This episode gave this young man… the springboard to contact the police.

“It is never too late to anyone who has been a victim of non-recent sexual abuse to come forward.”
