When he’s not busy chatting to Ice-T on X (formerly Twitter) about horror movie recommendations, Stephen King likes nothing more than to give Elon Musk a hard time.
The horror master has previously criticised Musk’s decision to charge people for blue ticks, sarcastically celebrated the launch of Musk’s AI, and — of course — made his feelings about Twitter’s name change abundantly clear.
And now he’s back for round two.
Over the weekend, a post from a Musk parody account asking people if the name X was better than Twitter went viral.
King quoted the post and made it obvious which side he was on.
“Twitter,” wrote King, once again structuring his response like a mini poem. “Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. Twitter.”
Based on the responses to that original post, it seems as though King isn’t alone.
In fairness, people’s thoughts about the name are the least of Musk’s worries. A recent study found there’s been a rise in anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim hate speech on X, while recent data showed that use is down almost a quarter since Musk took charge.
