IN the spirit of Christmas cheer, a mother shared the gift she gives to her kids’ teachers every December.
It’s simple but never fails to make an impact.
Toddler mom Lau B (@laubee27) likes to ensure her kids’ teachers feel appreciated each Christmas for working “SO hard,” so she gets crafty with their holiday gifts.
“I’ve been doing this for five years,” she began in the clip, noting that it’s “so simple yet so cute.”
The best part? It can be bought at the Dollar Tree.
Lau begins with a clear fillable Christmas tree ornament, which she either buys at Dollar Tree or Hobby Lobby – though it is also sold at Michael’s for $7.
“Then what I do is, I buy gift cards every year for every teacher. I always do either Amazon or Target because it’s general.”
She said these stores are better than gender-leaning ones like Victoria’s Secret.
Opening the twist-off top of the fillable ornament, she stuffs the gift card inside the front and then fills the back with a Christmas candy.
While last year she opted for peppermints, this year she did the holiday-colored Hershey kisses.

Lau suggested that her creative packaging makes for a cuter, more thoughtful gift card holder when compared to the usual envelope or box.
Another bonus? The teachers could keep the ornament and fill it with something else once they’ve taken out the goodies.
“So cute. Every single year without fail it never disappoints.”
Her idea was teacher-approved.
“I’m a teacher and I can confirm that this is a great idea,” one commented.
Other parents were excited to try it themselves.
“I LOVE this idea! Thank you for the video,” wrote one, with another adding, “So cute.”
