Shocking moment car thief rams owner into a brick wall & smashes the door off when screeching out of his driveway

THIS was the shocking moment a car thief drove the owner into a brick wall and broke the door off when speeding out of his driveway.

CCTV footage shared on social media appears to show a man in a black tracksuit, white trainers and a green beanie attempting to open a black SUV parked outside the home.

As he is about to take off the car owner, in a green jacket, walks towards the vehicle and opens the door in an attempt to stop the thief.

That is when the reckless thug reverses on full speed, ramming the owner into a brick wall and smashing the car door off.

The criminal then screeches out of the driveway, leaving the injured man fallen on the ground, grunting in pain.

Holding his apparently injured arm, the man rushes back into his home.

The shocking heist is understood to have happened in Doncaster, South Yorkshire on December 6 at around 7pm.

The Sun has contacted South Yorkshire Police for more information.

It comes after a stolen lorry left a trail of destruction after ploughing into 14 parked cars along a quiet residential street.

The 18-tonne vehicle lifted cars into the air and smashed into others as it raced down Hadfield Street in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

Miraculously, no-one was injured in the rampage which saw 14 cars wrecked and residents left counting the cost of the damage.

The HGV was stolen from a nearby builders yard at around 7am on Wednesday and later found torched in the Hulse Estate area of the town.

The CCTV footage shows one neighbour looking down the street before moving back from the pavement shortly before the lorry bursts down the road.

The vehicle’s grabbing arm can be seen swinging violently and lifting cars off the ground at random.

One car – a blue Vauxhall Corsa – was dragged 50 metres down the road and left embedded in the wall of one property.

The resident whose security camera captured the footage, told the Manchester Evening News: “We are still trying to come to terms with it.

“Everyone has been out on the street comforting each other and trying to be there for each other. It’s the one good thing that’s come of it.”

Mavis Pellowe, 76, the owner of the Blue Vauxhall, said: “I heard a bang and looked out of my window and there was no car there. I thought it had been pinched, then I came out and saw it had been embedded in the wall down the road.

“The main thing is no one has been hurt, mine was a lovely blue car but you can mend cars. It’s over now, normally it’s such a nice street.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and have released him pending further enquiries.
