We’re a family of EIGHT living inside a double decker bus… it has a massive shower, washing machine & roof deck

A FAMILY of eight are living it up in a converted double decker bus – complete with luxury shower, washing machine and sun trap roof deck.

Dane Eyerley and wife Deena haven’t looked back since bundling their belongings, and six kids, into the home on wheels as they travel around the US.

The couple, known as The Double Decker Family on social media, made the move and converted a double decker tour bus into modern and cosy home.

They opted for a farmhouse style, with white cabinetry and brown wooden counter tops used throughout the vehicle.

It comes complete with a full kitchen which boasts a two ring induction stove, oven, sink as well as a huge fridge and freezer.

The driving area at the front of the bus doubles as a home office, where a computer and desk can be set up.

To bring the family together for meals a dining table which fits eight can be pulled out in the kitchen living area.

They share two bathrooms and a separate full size shower.

Meanwhile laundry can be managed with use of a modern washer and dryer.

The kids have RV twin size beds in sleeping pods built into the wall, while Dane and Deena sleep in a queen bed that folds away through the day to create extra space.

There’s also a large learning area where the children can be home schooled by their parents.

On the top of the bus, there’s a huge sundeck where the family enjoy lounging or holding movie nights.

“The real reason we wanted to try something so drastically different than we had done before is just that we felt so tied down to chasing money for happiness,” Dane told Tiny Home Tours on Youtube.

“Ultimately it meant spending more time away from the family.

“We were on a road trip and we had all the kids in the van and as we drove back I got really upset because I saw all the kids and my wife happy and I knew in that moment that’s what I want.

“There was a switch in my mind and I just didn’t care about the money anymore.”

This revelation happened in July 2020, by August they bought the bus and in December 2021 most of the renovations had been completed.

“The plan is to get all 50 states under our belt,” Dane added.

This comes as thousands of people are making the same lifestyle change and switching to life on the road.

Joey, known as Joey The Nomad, made the bold move to leave his home behind and embark on his journey around North America in ‘Vangelina Jolie’.

A couple who were fed up with the rat race of their “mundane” lives decided to pack up and jump into vanlife.

Dave and Emily felt disillusioned with the monotonous routine of waking up early, stressing about work, and skyrocketing bills.

After lockdown in 2021 forced them to be together more, the fed-up pair realised just how much time they spent stressed and apart before – despite living under the same roof.

They made the brave decision to stick their house on the market and buy a minivan they named Mavis.

Plus, a man who made the bold move said he loves the freedom of going off-grid – and escaping the cost of living crisis.

Paul, aka, The Off Grid Nomad, was fed up being left with just £100 to play with at the end of every month amid soaring bills.

The proud “lorry life” community member now travels across the British countryside in his ex-military converted truck.
