WITH the Cost of Living Crisis still ongoing, many of us have been looking for better deals at the supermarket recently.

One mum has been slammed over her budget Christmas food shop though, with many hitting out at the amount of junk food.

As everyone tries to make their pay stretch until after Christmas Day, people have been sharing tips and tricks on social media.

In fact, there is entire Facebook group dedicated to getting discounts at the checkout, called Extreme Couponing And Bargains UK.

Whilst most users will share their thrifty finds on the page, one woman got a little more than she bargained for after a trip to Farm Foods.

Stocking up before the shops shut for Christmas, the mum loaded her trolley with frozen pizzas, sausages, fish fingers.

Having uploaded four photos showing the incredible spread, she shared that she’d bought multiple festive treats for her little ones including chocolate coins, fizzy drinks and Haribo.

In the caption, the woman also shared her incredible hack for getting this huge haul at her local store.

Rather than just using her £9 coupon, she stacked on another discount coupon.

Though not as common in the UK, this can be done and certain stores and at the cashier’s discretion.

This rapidly reduced the price, with her also getting multiple deals such as a pork joint for just £2.99 and yogurts for only 79p.

Even more amazing, her entire Christmas food shop cost her just £136.45, despite her adding a few stocking fillers for the kids.

“This has definitely set us up for Christmas [as a] family of 5,” she added: “No not loads of fruit but hey we do that all year round.”

However, not everyone was as impressed with her festive food shop.

Whilst we all overindulge at Christmas, the woman later revealed that she’d been judged by a cashier for her discounted goodies.

She explained: “I do apologise if its offended anyone, please do just enjoy yours sprouts for Xmas – must be fun in your house.”

“Oh the cashier was a bit of a drip so maybe [it was] her just being a bit funny but it’s not a problem,” the Facebook user pointedly added, saying: “All have the best Xmas from my processed house to yours. Sorry couldn’t help myself.”

In the comments, others also questioned why there had been so little fresh produce.

One cruel comment read: “I never understand why people eat [such] unhealthy food. Soft drinks, white bread, cakes, why?”

Another added: “Processed junk. [I] would rather go hungry.”

Others were more supportive of the mum, with many saying that they’d also stocked up on treats for the festive period.

“I had the pork joint last week [and] it was brilliant! Slow cooked and [it] fed 4,” revealed a third user.

“People can eat what they want and afford. Not everyone ha loads of money,” argued a fourth, saying: “You enjoy it hun. I think you’ve done amazingly.”

At least, the busy mum can avoid another trip to the shops for a while.
