A SHOPPER has shared the emotional find she saw in the clothing section.

The homemade knit top, from a thrift store, had a custom tag which had her in tears.

Willow Avalon (@willowavalon) filmed the tender moment in a video on TikTok.

“Who donated this?” read the text.

She held up a gray knit oversized sweater with a price tag of $5.09.

Inside the neckline of the top was a loving message stitched inside.

The message read: “[to] my soulmate” and on the other side: “I [love you] Tres.”

“Be right back,” Willow said. “Crying in the thrift store.”

The video drew in many viewers who cited the “sweater theory” to describe the find.

The “sweater theory” is an esoteric belief, mostly held my those with knitting as a hobby, that claims knitting a sweater for a lover will end the relationship.
