IT may be cold and windy outside but the gloomy weather isn’t putting a dampener on Brits’ sexual appetites for 2024.

From roleplay to entering a throuple, sexting, smart sex toys and romping with a robot, it seems many of us are keen to experiment.

We polled 2,000 Brits ranging from 16 years old to those over-55 to uncover the desires of people from around the UK.

It revealed 38 per cent of Brits want a kinkier sex life, with 44 per cent of men and 32 per cent of women saying that is their aim next year.

And men were found to be the keenest to enter a “throuple” – a relationship that involves three people, recently popularised by boxer David Haye.

Rebecca Dakin, known as The Great British Sexpert and founder of The School Of Sex, says it’s no surprise.

She told The Sun: “Britain is definitely getting more kinkier as the years progress and just like the sex survey shows, we want more kinky sex.

“We’re open to trying more new things, people are looking at throuples, non-monogamous relationships and sex clubs – things like that are more popular now than they’ve ever been.”

When it came to kinky sexy, there was a split across the nation with certain age groups more keen to spice up their love lives than others.

TOB GRAPHIC SEXUAL DESIRES

The age group who longed for kinkier sex the most was the 25 to 34s, with 54 per cent saying it was their goal for 2024.

They were followed by 52 per cent of 35 to 44-year-olds, and 51 per cent of 16 to 24-year-olds.

The figures dropped when it came to the middle to older age groups – with 33 per cent of 45 to 54-year-olds and 21 per cent of those 55-and-overs wanting kinkier sex.

Those in London, Yorkshire and the Midlands were found to be the most keen on spicing up their bedroom antics, whereas Geordies, Scots and those in Wales and the south of England seemed to be the happiest.

In those regions less than 35 per cent say they wanted a kinkier sex life.

TOB GRAPHIC THROUPLE CURIOSITY

Out of those polled, 25 per cent said they would like more role play, 20 per cent fantasise about having sex outside in the open air, and 17 per cent wanted to watch more porn with their partner.

And 21 per cent of fellas say they are up for a throuple, while 14 per cent of women admit that the idea appeals to them as well.

When this broke down into age groups, 21 per cent of 16 to 24-year-olds surveyed would consider a throuple, compared to 32 per cent of 25 to 34-year-olds and 29 percent of 35 to 44-year-olds.

The longing to be part of a three-person relationship appeared to drop with age, with just 16 per cent of 45 to 54-year-olds and only six per cent of over 55s curious to give it a try.

Experts predict that sex robots powered by futuristic artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms will soon be able to give humans the best sex of their lives.

And people living in Belfast were the most likely to give it a go – with 13 per cent up for jumping into a bed with a robot.

Those in Edinburgh, Cardiff, London and Sheffield were the next highest scorers when it came to robot fantasies.

And it has led 23 per cent of those quizzed to say they were up for getting their thrills by using “smart sex toys”.

A further 22 per cent wanted to enjoy more sexting in 2024 and 17 per cent would have “sex over FaceTime”.

We also found 12 per cent were keen to try virtual reality porn, which involves donning a headset or smartphone fitted into headgear.

Yet despite wanting to use more adult sex aids, the survey found 52 per cent of Brits don’t currently own a sex toy, while 37 per cent have between one and five adult toys in their bedroom.

Working with Censuswide, our survey also found eight per cent of those surveyed were also up for AI sex with a chatbot, while seven per cent said they’d like to romp with a robot in 2024.

Overall, 13 per cent of those polled said they’d be happy to have sex on a first date if the partner was right.

The east of the country and Scotland have the most impatient lovers, as that figure rose to 21 per cent in Norwich and Edinburgh, 19 per cent in Belfast, 18 per cent in London and 16 per cent in Liverpool and Brighton.

The majority – 34 per cent – have sex within the first month. Only 13 per cent wait up to three months and four per cent longer.

Interestingly, 27 per cent of respondents say there is no specific time frame for first-time sex, while eight per cent say it’s more instinctive “when you know they are a keeper”.

The most likely age group to have sex on the first date are 25 to 34-year-olds and 35 to 44-year-olds respectively.

Five ways to have kinkier sex in 2024

SEXPERT Rebbeca Dakin shares five easy ways you can spice up your love life and experiment in the bedroom.

1) Experiment with role play – Dress up and have a little bit of fun. If your partner likes blondes and you’re a brunette buy a wig and get your inner thespian out. Whether it’s dressing up as a policewoman or a stripper whatever it is, it’s going to turn you both on and you’ll have a lot of fun in the process.

2) Spanking – This doesn’t mean that you have to experience any pain. It can be playful, it can be as fun as just a tap on the bottom as your partner’s walking by or it can be a little bit more intense. Have a little bit of fun and enjoy the different sensations that spanking can create on the skin.

3) Tie and tease – If you don’t know what that is, it’s a very light form of bondage. You can use restraints, handcuffs or even just silk ties. It works well if you’re going to use a blindfold as well. Just explore your partner’s body. It’s about taking your time, extended foreplay and experimenting with your partner with different sensations on the skin, like silk scarves, feathers and more.

4) Experiment with domination and submission – Now one of you might be naturally one way or the other in the relationship anyway, maybe it’s something you’ve discussed or maybe it isn’t, but have a play around with maybe changing those roles and see what it feels like to be the one that takes the lead in the bedroom and vice versa.

5) Bring toys into the bedroom – There’s a misconception that some people feel like it means that they’re not good enough in the bedroom or they’re not satisfying their partner but in actual fact, toys are for everyone. Enjoy the different vibrations and the different sensations. They’ll never replace another person they just add to the fun.
