A PLUS-SIZED beauty has joked she looks like a nun at a convent after a dress fail on the hunt for a black tie event.

Rachel Spicer, from Falkirk, regularly shares her clothing hauls and outfit choices with her 2.3 million followers on TikTok (@rachelspicer_).

She rose to fame on TikTok by showing off her two “dancing” chins.

Now, the 25-year-old – a size 18 – aims to help boost her followers’ self-confidence with her body positive content.

But in a recent video, she admitted she’s “not feeling” her figure as she tried to find an outfit for a black tie event.

Making a stop at Marks and Spencer to pick up some shapewear, she said: “I did go to M&S and buy some new Spanx because I am not feeling my body at the moment.

“The thought of getting dressed up really makes me want to cry and curl into a ball in a hole and stay there.”

She added: “But that is not the attitude I’m going into 2024 with.

“The belly is fine. We’ve got some Spanx and it’ll be fine.

“It’s strapless and hopefully it just smooths everything out because I’m fat.”

However, her outfit success ended there as Rachel tried on a £45 linen cut out maxi dress with ruffles, currently on sale for £31.

Describing the frock on their website, Boohoo bosses said: “A longline style that lengthens your silhouette and skims your curves for a super flattering look, create the fit you’ve been dreaming of this season with this plus size maxi dress.

“A versatile piece you can dress up with heels or keep casual with sliders.”

Modelling the dress, Rachel insisted it looked more suited for the beach than a fancy party.

And she even joked that she looked like a nun.

She said: “This one fits, but it’s giving more beach holiday.

“The material is giving beach holiday.

“And I do feel a bit like a nun. I feel like I’m skipping in the convict.

“I mean, it fits, but it’s not giving ‘black tie’ nice.

“It’s a no. Has to be a no.”

The blonde beauty’s clips about her outfit dilemma have racked up almost one million views, with her fellow fashionistas divided over the black frock.

One said: “The first black one looks like the old Queen Victoria mourning dress.”

A second added: “First is giving Bridgerton vibes.”

A third claimed: “1st dress give Sound of Music vibes.”

But a fourth insisted: “I liked the black dress it just needs ironing.”

Meanwhile, another related to Rachel’s struggles of finding an outfit as she said: “People don’t understand how mentally taxing it is when no clothes in your supposed size fit you.”

And a curvy fashionista hailed her choice in underwear, writing: “I have the same set from M&S and it’s the best thing I’ve ever invested in.”

Rachel earlier revealed that she refuses to hide her wobbly belly – and insisted haters who tell her to hit the gym won’t ruin her day.

While lying on a sun lounger in the sunshine, she held a towel over her midriff and confessed: “Wearing a low rise bikini is much more scary than people realise.”

But just seconds later she whipped it away to enjoy some sunbathing in her white bikini.

Rachel added: “I will admit that I am not confident in my body at all at the moment but I’m definitely not letting that ruin my holiday by stressing about how I look in a bikini.

“I can’t say that no one around the pool looked at me or cared that I had my belly out, you just have to say f*** it and enjoy your holiday.”
