‘Desperate’ Meghan Markle & Prince Harry ‘have failed in Hollywood’ & ‘have nothing of credibility there’, expert claims

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have “failed in Hollywood” after failing to land new income streams, according to a royal author.

This comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s £18million Spotify deal was axed last year, after they produced just 13 episodes in 31 months.

Speaking to Closer, royal author Tom Bower said: “They’ve got no new income streams, no new companies – everything they’ve attempted to do to relaunch themselves  I think in the end has been utterly unsuccessful and has failed.

“There’s nothing of credibility there, but they are putting a good face on it.

“They have failed in Hollywood.”

Tom added that the Duchess of Sussex is “clearly desperate” to find a new role, which explains why she has been “so silent” lately.

He added that the “desperation” will “get worse” following the new year.

This follows Meghan walking the red carpet as part of the Variety magazine’s Power of Women event in November, where she teased upcoming projects.

At the time, she said: “We have so many exciting things on the slate.

“I can’t wait until we can announce them.

“We’re just really proud of what we are creating, and my husband is loving it too.”

Meghan’s Spotify deal was scrapped in June with the announcement her podcast wouldn’t get a second series.

It was said the shows did not meet “productivity requirements“.

Spotify executive Bill Simmons was reported to have labelled the pair “f***ing grifters” while also ridiculing Harry’s own podcast ideas.

And the year before, Meghan’s animated series Pearl was quietly dumped by Netflix.

The show, created by the Duchess of Sussex through Archewell Productions, was in the development stage.

It was binned as part of cutbacks amid a collapse in subscribers, Deadline reported.

In contrast, Tom said that Kate Middleton’s popularity is soaring, particularly after hosting her Together at Christmas carol concert, which aired on Christmas Eve.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be hoping for a fresh start this year, after backlash last year for their Netflix documentary and Harry’s bombshell biography Spare.

However, royal expert Phil Dampier told Fabulous that “redemption” is unlikely for the Sussexes.

It’s thought the couple may move home from Montecito to get themselves closer to Hollywood.

A source told US Weekly: “Harry and Meghan think 2024 will be the year of redemption” – with Meghan apparently turning down offers of work “left, right and centre” and Harry also in “extremely high demand”.

And Meghan has enlisted Beverly Hills talent agency William Morris Endeavour ahead of her long-planned relaunch in the New Year.

The source added: “They’ve actually been shocked by how popular she is. Her team has never seen anything like it.”

They claim she is being approached about everything from film roles to multi-million-dollar endorsement deals with major brands.

Reports of an acting comeback came after the duchess appeared in a playful Instagram ad for a coffee company, a firm she holds shares in.The cameo appearance sees the former Suits star doing multiple roles at coffee company Clevr Blends, including packing, working on the digital team, and on the operations team.
