THIS is the shocking moment £35,000 BMW with a beloved dog in the back was stolen by thugs – before the elderly victim was hit with her own car.

A Ring doorbell camera captured the thief lurking outside the pensioner’s home in Bexleyheath, south east London yesterday morning.

He lay in wait as the woman parked on her driveway and went inside, leaving the driver-side door open and the engine still on.

The thug then got out of his VW Golf and jumped into the the BMW X1.

He then reversed out of the drive, hitting the woman as she and her son rushed out to stop him.

The injured OAP realised that her pug Daisy was still in the back of the X1, a model worth £34,935 when new.

The woman’s daughter-in-law slammed the cruel thief in a Facebook post.

She said: “If you know this guy, please let us know. Car stolen from the drive with the pug inside.

“He knocked my mother-in-law and my husband over when they tried to stop the car.

“It is hard to watch.”

Cops said the woman was taken to hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening.

Scotland Yard added: “An investigation is ongoing following this shocking incident.

“The dog was thankfully found safe and well by a member of the public a short time later in Wickham Street, Welling.”
