Islanders ‘disappointing’ Stadium Series jerseys leave fans dumbfounded

The Islanders finally released their Stadium Series jerseys Friday, birthing plenty of social media criticism for the design.

The jerseys feature a dark blue base with a large orange stripe around the middle with the word “Isles” in all caps. According to the NHL’s press release, the design is based on the Plimsoll line, painted on the hull of ships.

“This is real? How did any of the marketing team allow this,” Blue Line Deli & Bagels, an Isles themed lunch joint, wrote on X. “Super disappointed. I can’t even believe it.”

In addition to criticism for the design and for the late release — which prevented fans from buying the jerseys for Christmas — some of the jerseys being sold on the Isles Lab website were not set to ship until March 15, nearly a full month after the game against the Rangers at MetLife Stadium.

Jerseys with last names on the back, such as those of Bo Horvat, Ilya Sorokin, Adam Pelech and Anders Lee, were available to ship more immediately.
