Shocking moment man casually walks up to parked car before setting it on fire in ‘unprovoked’ attack in Wild West Britain

This is the shocking moment a man walks up to a parked car before setting it on fire and walking calmly away from the scene.

Footage shows a man dressed in black walking up to a car parked outside of a house in Leeds, West Yorkshire in November.

He opens the door, leans into the car and appears to rummage around inside for about half a minute.

Looking to ensure no one is watching, he then lights a piece of cloth on fire and throws it into the car and begins to run away.

But his attempt was unsuccessful, so he gingerly edged back and nudged the cloth further inside the car.

The vehicle went up in flames with a loud noise, and the unidentified man is filmed walking away calmly.

It follows a spate of arson attacks on vehicles in Kent where the man responsible ran off with his pants on fire.

The masked assailant poured flammable liquid over the vehicles parked outside a house in Rochester, Kent.

The flames engulfed multiple cars and caught the arsonist’s trousers as he made his getaway on foot.

MailOnline has contacted West Yorkshire Police for comment.
