Manchester City defender Kyle Walker is apologizing for the betrayal of his wife, Annie Kilner, after fathering a second child with model and influencer, Lauryn Goodman.
In an interview with the Sun, Walker, 33, said he had to “own up” to the decisions he made that led to him having two children with Goodman and Kilner subsequently leaving him after Goodman sent Kilner a Boxing Day message revealing Walker as the father to her second child.
Walker and Kilner share three children and she is pregnant with their fourth.
“What I’ve done is horrible and I take full responsibility,” Walker said told the outlet. “I made idiot choices and idiot decisions. I can’t begin to think or imagine what Annie is going through. I’ve tried to ask her but there’s pain and hurt. The man that’s meant to love, care and be there for her, did this.”
He continued: “The only person to blame is me. I have roles and responsibilities that I’m aware of and I’ve made stupid choices. But I need to own up to my mistakes — I owe it to everyone. My actions have caused a lot of pain to a lot of people. I’m sorry because, as a family, this isn’t meant to happen.”
Walker had to deal with the fallout after Goodman got pregnant for the first time from a rendezvous between the footballer and influencer.
Goodman gave birth to the first child in April 2020 and later publicly named him as the father.
Kilner eventually took Walker back after the first indiscretion, and he promised not to have contact with Goodman.
However, in early October 2022, Walker met up with Goodman in London while he was traveling for groin surgery.
The pair hooked up, and she revealed “at the end of October, early November” that she was pregnant again.
On Dec. 26, Goodman sent a blunt Instagram message to Kilner revealing that Walker was the father of both her kids.
“I don’t have two baby daddies — I have one,” read the message that led to the demise of Kilner and Walker’s relationship, according to the Sun.
“I knew something was coming when I landed back from the Club World Cup before Christmas because I had a conversation with Lauryn,” Walker explained. “She was screaming down the phone, saying Annie’s pregnant. I said she wasn’t. It was none of her business. I felt I had to lie to her because I knew if I told her the truth it was going to blow.
“The pregnancy was the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
Kilner has kicked Walker out of the family’s home for good, and she has reportedly taken off her wedding ring.
In early January, Kilner said in a statement that she was taking “some time away” from Walker.
Walker told the outlet that he was finally speaking out for the sake of his family.
“I don’t know what the future will hold. But I needed to give an explanation,” Walker said. “My family, the children have been put through enough . . . and I am to blame.”
He has started in all 20 Premier League games he’s played for Manchester City this year, notching two assists.
