THE world’s most luxurious garage is an apocalypse-proof underground bunker that’s only accessible by an “aircraft carrier”.
The sprawling space can fit 40 cars at once, withstand any natural disaster and at one point had £23.5million worth of cars inside.
Tom Gonzalez started building the massive garage alongside – or underneath – his home in 1999.
He said the bunker could withstand any element.
It’s accessed by a massive 12-ft wide, 60-ft long elevator which remained hidden to not disrupt the environment of his multi-million pound home in Nevada.
The founder of US e-commerce firm Commerce One even had another garage above ground that could fit 50 motorbikes.

Tom said the elevator which accessed the underground, 121-foot garage could lift a massive 250,000 pounds.
He once said on an episode of US show Million Dollar Rooms: “It’s basically an aircraft carrier elevator.
“The structure is completely impervious to any kinds of natural disasters that we could think of.
“I mean if we have millions and millions of dollars with of cars in a lower garage then they must be protected at all costs – hence why we did all of this.”

But he said it’s also held Porsche Carera GTs, and “some of the finest collectible corvettes” in the garage – which could hold nine full-sive RVs or 40 cars.
In the upstairs garage, he showed off his collection of Harley Davidsons – some he’d never even turned on, let alone ridden.
Most still had their tags on, which had five-figure sums on them.
Speaking in another interview, Tom told CNN in 2012: “We have an underground garage that’s capable of holding nine Greyhound buses.
Motors Tom Gonzalez’s garages have held
In a 2012 interview, Tom Gonzalez said his underground bunker garage held once held $30m (£23.5m) of cars.
He said it’s also held Porsche Carera GTs, and “some of the finest collectible corvettes”.
And while he didn’t show those off on camera, the garage had Jeeps, Chevrolet, Audi, and Land Rovers in it at the time.
Tom also had a collection of around 30 Harley Davidsons – which some he’d never even turned on, let alone ridden.
Some of the bikes even still had their tags on – with just one of them alone having a five-figure price on it.
“The garage actually goes subterrane and as you put car, or cars, on the lift it drops down, and you drive into the main garage.”
He explained they needed the elevator used to access the space to be hidden.
Tom continued: “We had two missions, one it had to be serviceable to drive in and out of property and we wanted it to blend in with the environment.
“You can store 30 cars in the lower garage and probably 15 or so in the upper garage.
“Or 40 or 50 or so motorcycles in the upper garage.
“We’ve had Porsche Carera GTs, we’ve had some of the finest collectible corvettes.

“It’s perfectly protected, every car is perfectly protected in any kind of environment here.
“There were $30m (£23.5m) worth of cars in the lower basement and we had to make sure they were protected.”
