Shocking moment man in his underpants with massive knife strolls along busy London street after man and woman are stabbed and child is chased near school

This is the shocking moment a man dressed in his underpants was seen strolling down a busy London street carrying a huge knife after a man and women were stabbed and a ‘child chased near a school.’

The terrifying incident occurred on Gordon Street, Ealing just after 8am on Wednesday. 

Police were scrambled to the scene and a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon and affray. 

Police then discovered a man and a woman who were carrying knife injuries inside a nearby residential property. 

The suspect, who had been taken to hospital for assessment was subsequently re arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder.

Both victims were taken to hospital and police have stressed the child was unharmed and is now ‘safe and well.’ 

The distressing incident was filmed by by passers who were forced to hide from the erratic man inside shops until the police arrived. 

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Jackson said: ‘This was a highly visible incident that I know will have left local residents disturbed and concerned.

‘Please be assured that a man is now in custody and that there is no further risk to anyone’s safety.

‘We thank the community in advance for their patience and cooperation while our officers make their enquiries at the scenes and in the local area.’

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called at 8.14am on Wednesday, February 7 to reports of a man with a knife chasing a child in Gordon Road, Ealing.

‘Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.

‘A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon, affray, and two counts of attempted murder.

‘He was taken to hospital for assessment. He was not physically injured.

‘A crime scene remains in place.’
