EMMERDALE fans have ripped into an ‘insane lack of continuity’ and blasted soap bosses for three huge plot holes in just two months.

Soap fans are known for being eagle-eyed when it comes to detail in their favourite shows.

And for some Emmerdale viewers, too many loose ends – or plot holes as they see them – have cropped up in the first few weeks of the new soap year.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one fan wrote: “The lack of continuity has been insane in 2024 and we’re only 2 months in;

Arthur getting ready for the funeral and not going, Jai covering for Laurel at the hide even though he quit, Ethan representing Rhona even tho he was sacked like how does the bts team not notice.”

Another viewer tried to defend one of their points, replying: “Ethan is still an attorney. He is just not at his fancy law firm.”

But the original poster replied: “yeah true about Ethan, but if i worked at ED I could not keep my mouth shut about this stuff… maybe I’m just too observant but personally I just think it’s lazy.”

Another shared: “What is it with the writers on #Emmerdale? Replaced Rishi with awful Amit, Aaron back as a heartless thug and then finally explain why Nicky’s accent is different to his parents. “I grew up in Newcastle” no you didn’t you’re from Hartlepool, not a Geordie!”

Their comments come after other Emmerdale viewers took aim at the latest episodes and the sudden change to baby Ivy.

The tot was born late last year after Rhona’s ex, Gus and his wife Lucy stole Rhona’s frozen embryos.

Sadly, Lucy died during childbirth and Rhona had offered to help a distraught Gus care for the baby that was technically hers.

Ivy should be no more than three months old, but in the latest scenes – after Rhona had kidnapped her – she appeared much older, holding her head up, smiling and laughing.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one Emmerdale fan wrote: “That baby Ivy looks awfully old for a relative newborn? Looks a bit to mobile for her age?”

Another added: “Anyone notice baby was changed last night.”

A third tweeted: “WAIT. That baby is sitting up & looks about 6months old tonight. Make it make sense, for once #Emmerdale.”
