‘Why on earth?’ people ask as woman cooks slap up meal with duck spring rolls, spaghetti hoops & Toblerone to her FOXES

A WOMAN has left people totally baffled after preparing a special meal – which included spaghetti hoops and even chocolate – to feed the local FOXES.

Fox mating season is now in full swing, meaning many are trying to come up with ways to keep the hungry animals out of their gardens.

But not Saffron Marie, who recently revealed she feeds the local fox community and prepares them a special dish consisting of veggies and even cult favourite chocolate.

Taking to TikTok, the young stunner, from the UK, shared the recipe and advised everyone else to do the same.

”Feed your wildlife when and where you can.”

She said in her video: ”It’s actually really simple – and I don’t know why more people don’t do it.

”Any leftover food that you have, just make it for them and give it to them.”

This time, the feast included several boiled spuds, some delicious spring rolls, crushed-up pieces of the foodie-loved Toblerone chocolate, as well as a few pears.

Once all the ingredients had been chucked in a plastic bag, Saffron also poured in a can of spaghetti hoops, which she wasn’t too keen to eat, as they weren’t Heinz.

Meanwhile, the spring rolls had apparently been sitting in her freezer for ages and Saffron reckoned she’d probably never get around eating them.

”I was worried that there wasn’t going to be enough flavour, so I just poured some syrup in here.”

Unfortunately for the animal lover, the foxes weren’t there when she got to the nearby green space – so instead, she decided to just chuck it all out on the grass.

”I knew they’d come and get it during the night, probably not on camera.

”I did come out and checked several times but they just weren’t here.

”But when I walked out in the morning, all the food had gone, apart from a couple of little bits.”

However, despite Saffron’s best intentions, the clip soon racked up over 400k views, with dozens left completely baffled.

One said: ”This is why they feel comfortable coming into people’s house.”

”Why are we feeding foxes now!?” someone else wanted to know.

”Love this but it hurt me to see the Toblerone go in, it’s so good,” a third chimed in.

”It’s a nice thought, I used to do it but was advised to not as the foxes will start to rely on you and lose their natural hunting instincts,” a fourth revealed.

Luckily, it wasn’t all negative, as there were also heaps of those who thought the act was rather wholesome.

”This is so cute,” one cried.

”I always put my leftover food in a bowl and have my boyfriend take it to the forest out front, gone the next day,” a fellow animal lover said.

”My dad did this and he could see them on the cameras,” another penned.

Should I feed foxes?

Chatting with The Guardian, Trevor Williams, the founder of fox rescue charity the Fox Project, advised to best find another use for your leftovers.

”Generally we suggest people don’t feed foxes, because it will undermine their territory if they can’t be bothered to go farther afield.

”Also, foxes don’t just take what they need – they take what’s available and bury it for later.

”And if it’s constantly turning up in nextdoor’s flowerpots, they may end up getting in someone to deal with the foxes lethally.”

What’s more, according to the experts at Fantastic Pest Control, whilst foxes can eat chocolate, they really shouldn’t do so.

”There are chemicals in chocolate that can be highly toxic to foxes and all canids.

”That’s not to say that the melted chocolate left on a wrapper in the bin or dropped in the park will be sufficient to kill a fox, and as with dogs, not every individual has a strong adverse reaction to chocolate.

”On the principle of better safe than sorry chocolate should be kept well away from any member of the canine family.”
