A BRIDE-TO-BE was left reeling after her bridesmaid dropped a bomb on her the night before the wedding.
Although they were apparently best friends, the relationship seemed toxic and one-sided to some.
Posting anonymously to Reddit, a woman shared the horrible experience she faced on the eve of her nuptials.
She shared screenshots of texts between herself and one of her “best friends,” she as wrote, who was meant to be a bridesmaid.
Another bride, who this bride does not know personally despite their friend circle overlapping, decided to have a “shotgun wedding” on the same day as her wedding.
And the bridesmaid reached out to this bride revealing that she was also asked to be the “freaking maid of honor” at this shotgun wedding.
“I thought your wedding was Sunday, but both of your weddings are tomorrow, so I’m really going to have to figure out how the hell to get to hers and then get to yours immediately following,” she wrote.
“Are you doing a reception dinner and dancing? I’m sick to my stomach.”
The bride replied with a simple answer: “Mine has been planned for two years. Do whatever, I don’t care.”
The bridesmaid begged the bride to not get upset with her and stated that she was the “only woman” showing up to this last minute shotgun wedding.

The bride, however, explained that if she really was this other woman’s maid of honor, she wouldn’t be able to leave that wedding and attend hers – as that would be wrong.
That’s when the bridesmaid wrote back: “Are you having a reception and dinner afterwards at all?
“No f***ing way,” she said, insinuating that she didn’t want to miss her wedding completely. “I’m OBVIOUSLY WORRIED. YOU’RE ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS.”
The bride said that there would be a reception for those who attend the ceremony and reiterated that her date has been set for years.
So, the bridesmaid fired back: “Are you saying that I can’t come to the reception if I don’t make it to the ceremony? I’m pretty sure I will be able to make it, but that would really suck.”
And the bride retorted: “What would really suck is missing the wedding that’s been planned for two years and the date has been here and known.”
That’s when the bridesmaid agreed, saying she was even flying in for her wedding because she’s known about it for so long and adding that she’s just as frazzled by the last minute change.
“I’m just finding out this information right now, so I’m getting it over to you because I’m just as thrown off as you are. I was not aware that this was happening. I love you, don’t stress out about it. I’ll figure it out.”
She continued to plead with the bride to not stress, telling her how much she loved her, and the bride shot back.
“I’m not stressed, but you’re dropping this on me while I’m getting ready to go to my rehearsal dinner. If you’re just finding out this information, she obviously didn’t plan very well… lack of planning on her part does not constitute an emergency on mine or yours.”
Readers couldn’t believe the bridesmaid’s behavior.
“She seriously asked if you’re having a reception after the wedding?! Did she really not know, especially since she’s in the wedding party?” one person began.
“Best friend or not, this was terrible of her to put on you. The constant ‘love yous’ while doing this to you are really gross and toxic.”

Another said the bridesmaid “sucked,” adding, “All of her problems are of her own making and she’s made herself the victim in the drama storm she recreated. I hope you have an actual stress-free wedding without this selfish person.”
And a third put it bluntly: “This friend is flakey as hell.”
