A MOTORHEAD discovered a rusty old Mercedes G-Wagon and took it for a test drive – then asked if he could buy it.
TJ Lamb said he had been driving past the run-down whip every day and “had to” see if he could take it for a test drive.
As the video starts the motor-hunter said the car – an old Mercdedes G-Wagon – was “sitting there for months” and decided to take a closer look.
He said: “The condition isn’t too bad, it’s in this beautiful military green metallic colour.
“It’s got the AMG wheels but this is an older one, I think it’s a 2002 G-wagon.
“It’s got some slight rust holes on it but it’s a g350 diesel which means it’s so reliable.”

TJ went on to say that he suspects the motor was imported from Germany and headed into the gas station – where the motor was left – to see if he could find out more.
Once inside he was told it’s owned by the mechanic shop next-door, which he “didn’t even realise” was there but as it was closed he would have to come back the next day.

He popped back to the chop-shop the following morning where he discovered the employees had seen his previous videos and readied the owner to speak to him.
The owner told him that he got the car from a former client who “handed him in the keys” and gave it to him for free providing he would do some work for him.

The owner, said: “Everything is for sale for the right price, it has about 200,000 miles on the clock.”
Then, TJ couldn’t believe it when they offered him the chance to test-drive the motor.
While in the whip, he showed a selection of different buttons in the center of the dashboard – including a “front diff lock, transfer case locks and a rear diff lock” making it “perfect” to turn into an “Overland” motor.
Showing off two gear sticks, TJ, said: “You’ve got one gear selector, but what is this thing?”
The owner replied that it’s the “4×4” as some trucks have two sticks, one to operate the transmission and a second to shift the transfer case.
After jumping in the driver’s seat himself, TJ discovered it was pretty slow and was told the horse-power isn’t much at “maybe 130”.
After putting his “foot to the floor” he said that it’s not quite a 6.3 V AMG, but it’s “more reliable”.
At the end of the video he finally found out the price – £17,564 ($22, 231) – and decided it was way out of his price range.
When the car first came out over two decades ago, punters would have paid over twice that at £57,000 ($72,000).
He said: “That’s way out of my price range so my search will continue.”

This comes after a classic car was found abandoned in a barn with only 27,000 miles on the clock – and it still runs.
The old motor was found by car detailing company WD Detailing, who quickly realised that it still worked so decided to bring it back to its former glory.
