This is the moment a dog savagely mauls a cat to death after the owner allegedly ‘lifted the dog over the gate’ to ‘facilitate the attack’.
Distressing video footage appears to show a medium-sized dog being helped over a fence by its owner before it launches its brutal attack on a cat, chasing it around the residential area.
The owner appears to stand behind the gate, in Harvest Court, Halifax, watching the attack unfold.
After approximately sixty seconds, the dog runs back to its owner, while a woman living in one of the properties comes out of her house to investigate.
Ameena Islam, a friend of the cat owner, shared the footage on social media and said the cat died thirty minutes after the attack from ‘internal bleeding’.
In a post, she claimed the dog was ‘off-leash’ and that its owner ‘callously watched as the attack unfolded’.
Ameena claimed: ‘In the opening of the video, it’s evident that the owner deliberately lifted their dog over the gate, seemingly to facilitate the attack on the cat. It’s disgusting to subject a defenseless cat to such cruelty, ultimately resulting in its tragic passing.
‘If anyone witnessed the incident, possesses clear CCTV footage or recognises the dog, please direct message me and please share this video.’
West Yorkshire Police has been contacted for comment.
