I live on a small-scale flower farm – 4 foolproof blooms to grow this year & a repellant that will help your garden

She’s whittled her list down to four fool-proof blooms.

But don’t forget the repellent, you’re going to need it, she said.

The Farm Bar (@the_farm_bar) shares her life in flowers with her 32,000 followers on TikTok.

She only started growing flowers in 2020 to practice arranging.

But her hobby gathered pace and now she has a “small-scale dahlia farm” in Washington State.

“I have a micro dahlia farm where I grow flowers, selling them locally from my renovated flower trailer,” she said.

Her floral arrangements are also in demand for wedding services.

In this post, she offered advice to established gardeners and beginners alike.

“Foolproof flowers to grow in 2024,” she said.

The setting for her video was one of her flower patches, and it spilled over with colorful blooms.

“If you have always wanted to grow flowers but don’t know where to start, this one’s for you,” she said.

Her list included:

  • Zinnias
  • Cosmos
  • Sunflowers
  • Snapdragons

One commenter said she couldn’t control her snapdragons.

“They grow like weeds for me,” she said.

Our flower farmer understood.

“Once snapdragons go off there’ s no containing them,” she replied.

Another gardener asked for advice.

“What did I do wrong? I planted two packages of zinnias and not a single one grew,” she complained.

“You can always try starting your seeds inside. Or plant them in the ground and sprinkle slug repellent over the dirt,” replied the flower farmer.
