KIRSTEN Dunst has suffered an unfortunate gaffe on the 2024 Oscars Red Carpet.

The actress accidentally bumped into a giant Oscar statuette before taking photos with her husband Jesse Plemons.

Kirsten, 39, and Jesse, 35, who starred in the heavily nominated Killers of The Flower Moon – took to the Oscars Red Carpet on Sunday.

Photographers yelled her way as she stunned in a chic, simple white dress, her husband in a tux looking extra slim with slicked-back hair.

Suddenly, the actress, who has been on a lengthy hiatus from major roles, got tripped up.

She fell backward and exclaimed, “Woah!” as she landed on the large Oscar setpiece.

The star laughed and put her hands on Jesse’s shoulders as she exclaimed, “I walked right into an Oscar!”

From there, she steadied herself on Jesse while still laughing and posed with her famous man for photos.

‘WHOOPS!’

Variety shared the clip on X where one fan commented with cringe emojis.

Another wrote: “Whoops!”

A third wrote: “Adorable couple and a pair of talented folks.”

And a fourth: “They look great. Plemons in particular is like a completely different person!”

A fifth joked: “She was serving too hard and needed to be stopped.”

WINNING COUPLE

Jesse and Kirsten struck up a relationship while co-stars on TV’s Fargo Season 2 in 2016, and got engaged in 2017.

The couple got married in 2022, and they now share two adorable tots, their most recent being born in May 2021.

“He’s an angel, but he’s a hungry angel. And a heavy angel,” Dunst said of her son James Robert in an interview with the New York Times.

The couple also co-starred in the 2021 western drama film The Power of The Dog.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, OPPENHEIMER

Hollywood’s biggest night hits the small screen on ABC on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at a sprightly 7 p.m. ET.

This is an hour earlier than usual, or two, considering the daylight savings time change.

As usual, the 96th annual Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.

Late-night star Jimmy Kimmel will host this year’s edition – his fourth time behind the podium.

The Oscars will see the year’s most critically acclaimed movies, actors, directors, and everyone behind them duke it out.

Oppenheimer (13 nods), Poor Things (10), Killers of The Flower Moon (10), and Barbie (8) lead the tally.

Fans will feel the Kenergy as Ryan Gosling will perform “I’m Just Ken” from Barbie with Mark Ronson.

Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell will also perform “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie.

Presenters include Mahershala Ali, Bad Bunny, Emily Blunt, Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Zendaya, Ariana Grande, and Al Pacino.

Awards-wise, it looks like the Barbenehimer summer craze has fizzled out, and it will be a statuesque night for the Robert Oppenheimer biopic.

Almost everyone has predicted that Christopher Nolan’s three-hour atomic bomb opus will likely win Best Picture and Best Director (Nolan’s first).

Best Supporting Actor looks like a shoo-in for Oppenheimer’s Robert Downey Jr. (his first).

And Da’Vine Joy Randolph has claimed almost every gong for Best Supporting Actress for Alexander Payne’s (potentially plagiarized) The Holdovers.

Other categories look less sure-fire, like Best Actress, with Anatomy of A Fall’s Sandra Hüller squaring up against Poor Things’ Emma Stone and Lily Gladstone of Scorcese’s Killers of The Flower Moon.

In perhaps the most undecided of the big categories, if Lily wins, she’ll make history as the first-ever native Oscar winner.

Best Actor is also a toss-up, with Cillian Murphy of Oppenheimer facing Maestro’s Bradley Cooper and The Holdovers’ Paul Giamatti.

But Palm D’Or winner Anatomy could also have an upset windfall in the Best Adapted Screenplay category if not Best Director for Justine Triet or even Best Picture – as always, upsets will ensue!
