Celebrity Bake Off’s Danny Dyer forced to smash his way out of wardrobe after nightmare DIY fail

TRAPPED Danny Dyer once had to smash his way out of a wardrobe after accidentally building it around himself.

The telly tough guy mocks his DIY disaster on The Great Celebrity Bake Off, after stars were asked to recreate their biggest failure in cake form.

Former EastEnder Danny, 46, recalled: “I had a child young and tried to build a wardrobe.

“But I built myself into it. I had to punch the back of it to get out. My missus still mocks me to this day.”

For the show — part of the Stand Up To Cancer charity special on Channel 4 on Sunday — Danny makes the wardrobe from vanilla sponge.

He hides a fondant model of himself holding a hammer in the centre for judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood to find.

Danny added: “I’ve had many failures in my life, some of them I can’t do though cos they’re filth. I’ve blagged my whole career, 30 years.

“I’ve made a whole career out of that. I still have no idea what I’m doing. Who knows? Maybe I’m meant to be an unbelievable baker.”

Fellow contestants include comedians Leigh Francis and Rhod Gilbert, plus Radio 1’s Yinka Bokinni.

Danny — 19 when wife Joanne had daughter Dani, now 27 — is set to appear in Sky comedy Mr Bigstuff and is fronting a documentary on modern masculinity for Channel 4.
