A WOMAN who had a huge row with a man who said she should be “raped and murdered” was left feeling “stupid” after reporting him to his employer.
In a post on Mumsnet’s Am I Being Unreasonable? forum, the woman said things kicked off after she saw a video of the man on TikTok – building a Titanic themed slide for his kids.
“Saw a video of a man building a ‘Titanic’ slide for his kids where he got them to slide and then pretend they were dying,” she wrote.
“Lots of comments, and in my wine and emotional (period) state I commented that it wasn’t really funny as over 2000 people died in the Titanic including children.
“That was it.”
When she checked her phone two hours later, she saw that the man had sent her a “barrage of abuse”.

“Including saying I should shut my mouth, get my face to take a s**t?” she continued.
“And then he hopes I die in a fatal car crash and that I get raped and murdered and that I’ve made a ‘fatal mistake’.
“Truly vile in comparison to my comments about the Titanic.
“He had blocked me so I couldn’t respond, not that I would’ve wanted to instigate it or bothered.”

She then went on his page to “have a nosy” and saw that he had pictures of him playing with his kids, and “videos of him working for his employer including a badge and their name”.
“In my fury I emailed his employer telling them that this kind of person is saying these things and representing their brand and that violence against women, even suggestive, isn’t on,” she explained.
“I attached a screenshot of some of the comments.”
But when she woke up the next morning, she was left feeling “a bit stupid and nervous”.
“It was only a TikTok spat and I’ve escalated it, at the same time why do men get away with speaking to you like that?” she concluded.
“I didn’t have anything identifying in my email or TikTok to my name or location.”
But the majority of people commenting on the post were on the woman’s side.
“Nah you did the right thing. He’s a disgrace,” one wrote.
“You did the right thing,” another said.
“When you post videos for public consumption on social media, you invite public comment.
“Your comment was measured and inoffensive.
“His responses back to your were abusive, threatening and misogynist.
“I would also report to police.”
“I think you did the right thing,” a third wrote.
“Too many a**eholes are getting away with this vile behaviour and it’s not acceptable.”

The woman then replied: “It’s my first ever little spat!
“Just feel nervous and embarrassed this morning but I wouldn’t have my employers name public on my feed if I was being as vile as that!”
