Shocking video shows two mothers fighting McDonald’s customers in Brighton restaurant as their ‘children’s food had been taken’

Shocking footage has emerged showing two mothers appearing to fight McDonald’s customers after their ‘children’s food had been taken’.

The brawl took place at a McDonald’s restaurant in the Brighton Marina Leisure Centre, East Sussex, on Saturday night at approximately 9pm.

The appalling scenes kicked off after the two women allegedly claimed that fast-food meals that they’d ordered for their children had been swiped by another customer.

Onlookers can be seen in the footage attempting to break up the fight, and more concerningly, one the young children appears to intervene in the altercation, grabbing on to his mother, in an attempt to lead her away.

The clips shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, were obtained by user @imjustbrighton_  and shows the two mothers – one dressed in a long white coat, with the other in a khaki-coloured coat – appearing to confront customers by the tills.

The altercation seems to take a turn as the mother in white tells one of the customers dressed in a hoodie to ‘shut your mouth’ before appearing to swat away another female customer attempting to cool down tempers.

At this point, the hooded customer angrily demands ‘don’t you dare touch her’. The woman then appears to grab him by his hood, leading to bystanders jumping to his aid and stepping in.

But the clash quickly escalates as the mother dressed in a long khaki coat seems to be kicking at customers and appears to be throwing punches, before she is apprehended by a young man who seems to be slapped across the side of his face.

The young man does not react and persists in keeping the woman away from other customers.

A child dressed in a blue t-shirt, belonging to one of the mothers, worryingly also seems to intervene by clutching on his mother as she lays splayed across the floor while it appears she is being restrained by other customers.

The young boy can be seen attempting to push his mother away from the crowd and towards the exit of the restaurant in the uncomfortable scene.

One of the clips pans out to show some McDonald’s staff attempting to block customers from each other, while others keep their distance behind the safety of the counter, as they watch the scenes unfold.

Security, dressed in florescent jackets, seem to be also attempting to break up the brawl. Customers sat on a table nearby were seen with their phones out and laughing.

Eventually, the two women leave the restaurant, holding the hands of their two young children.

A McDonald’s spokesperson told the MailOnline: ‘We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to violence and anti-social behaviour in our restaurants, and it’s completely unacceptable to see customers behaving in this way.

‘The police were called, and we are assisting them in their ongoing enquiries.’

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: ‘Sussex Police received a report of a disturbance inside a McDonald’s restaurant at Brighton Marina at 9.30pm on Saturday, March 23.
