Posting under the username madi6227, Madi shared a picture of her dog, a Toy Poodle Havanese named Millie, followed by a snap of her henna inking straight after it was done.

Following this, she then shared a picture an hour later, after an attempt to scrub off the henna.

Alongside her pictures, the woman explained: “Henna artist said she was great at pet portraits….

“And this is what I got. Washed it within an hour and it still stained.”

Unfortunately for Madi, the henna tattoo didn’t budge – and the pet portrait covered her hand and one of her fingers.

Madi explained that she was not keen on the henna, but the artist was thrilled with her work, as she wrote: “She was super proud of it! She posted it on her Instagram.

“I still acted like I liked it because it isn’t permanent and didn’t want to hurt her feelings, but her confidence was wild – how she was absolutely convinced she’s great at it!”

After getting inked, Madi shared: “I just smiled with an open mouth in astonishment and said ‘oh wow, thank you!’. That’s how I handle awkward situations.”

Reddit users were left open-mouthed at the ‘ridiculous’ henna inking and were shocked that the tattoo hadn’t been done by a child.

I went to Bali for my birthday and wanted to get a cute henna on my back…It was so far from my expectations

One person said: “Was the henna artist a child? This would be great for a 10-year-old.”

To this, Madi clapped back and claimed: “Lol no, she was a very adult woman, in her 30s at least!”

I was just excited to get a henna tattoo because it was free

Another added: “I cannot stop laughing, that’s by far the best f**k up i have seen in some time.”

A third commented: “She did you dirty.”

Whilst someone else chimed in: “I almost love how ridiculous it is.”

What are henna tattoos?

Henna is a type of dye, from the Egyptian privet or henna tree.

The name henna is also used to refer to a form of temporary body art based on staining with those dyes.

It has been used to dye skin, hair and fingernails – as well as fabrics – since the Ancient Egyptian times.

Henna tattoos are often applied during religious celebrations – such as weddings and holy days.

At the same time, another user asked: “I’m guessing you didn’t ask for examples of their work?”

In response, Madi shared: “Nope, I was just excited to get a henna tattoo because it was free and I had never seen pet portraits done!

“Luckily it’s just temporary or I would have absolutely asked.”

Meanwhile, one user advised: “You can wash it with a bit of rock salt and the stain will lighten.”

To this, Madi replied: “I’ll try that! I’ve done a bunch of scrubs, teeth whitening toothpaste, baking soda with lemon etc.
