Camra hit out after the moan was rejected, saying it was “disappointed” at the ruling over the beer’s name and label.

The ale body also admitted banning Naked Ladies from its national contest in 2022.

The brew-haha is over the ale from Twickenham Brewery in South West London, which has been making its flagship Naked Ladies for 19 years.

The name was inspired by statues of naked water nymphs in a nearby park and the label on bottles and beer pumps features an artist’s impression with hop leaves.

He went on: “The sniggering tone of the name is offensive.”

His claim that the name, branding and design of the pump clip were “inappropriately sexualised and could cause offence and embarrassment for customers and staff” was rejected.

But Camra’s national executive insists the beer is sexist.
