Meghan has ‘failed to find CEO’ for lifestyle brand despite weeks of searching… as filming begins for new Netflix show

MEGHAN Markle has failed to find a CEO for her lifestyle brand despite weeks of searching, say sources.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, has spent the last five weeks interviewing for the position at American Riviera Orchard – which is a new site set to focus on home, food and goods.

A source in California close to the former actress said: “The initial CEO search has not panned out so far.”

Filming for the brand began at Meghan and Harry’s Californian mansion just last week.

While the bump in the road comes at a shock to Meghan, the failure to find a lead could see Meghan bag a deal with Netflix.

It is understood she has entered talks with the streaming giant about setting up a commercial partnership with the brand.

The sourced added: “It would run the lifestyle business with Meghan, developing products as spin-offs from her show.

“If a partnership is agreed, it’s likely that Netflix would install its own CEO to run operations.”

Last month, Meghan treated fans to a first look in a vintage-style clip on Instagram.

The grainy footage shows the duchess arranging flowers and baking in her stunning home.

The promo clip sent fans wild after it was posted as a story on the newly created account.

With a jazzy soundtrack by the late Nancy Wilson, the cryptic video conveys a sense of old-fashioned Hollywood glam.

A woman wearing a ball gown – believed to be Meghan – is also seen through open French doors in what looks like her lavish £12million Montecito mansion.

The footage also featured the brand’s logo drawn in a script-like font that resembles a wedding invitation.

The account’s biography says the brand is “by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex⁣⁣⁣” and visitors are linked to a website where they can join a mailing list.

Other than that – the vague page is bare except for the American Riviera Orchard’s logo spread elegantly across nine posts.

And now industry insiders have revealed to Page Six that the site will focus on home, food, garden and lifestyle goods.

The source said: “She’s been working on this for over a year and it’s all the things that are close to her heart — all the things she’s passionate about.”

According to a trademark application, it will sell a wide range of home goods, including tableware and edible treats like jams, spreads and jellies.

Meghan’s flashy new company could coincide with a new cooking book and blog that the Sussex’s are speculated to be working on.

Meghan’s friend, the co-founder of Alliance for Mums, shared a screenshot of the account on Instagram and congratulated the duchess on her “new venture”.

Industry insiders said the site will focus on home, food, garden and lifestyle goods.

A source told the Mail: “It’s a lifestyle and cooking brand called American Riviera Orchard.
