New iPad Air announced — here’s everything you need to know

It’s been a long wait, but Apple’s new iPad tablets are here.

The company kicked off Tuesday’s ‘Let Loose’ event with the new iPad Air, which comes in two sizes for the first time, with either an 11-inch and a 13-inch display.

This is the first time Apple has launched two iPad Air sizes at the same time, now matching the sizes of their iPad Pro brethren.

The iPad Air has an M2 chip, a landscape, 12-megapixel Ultra Wide front camera, and comes in four finishes: blue, purple, Starlight, and Space Grey.

It also supports Apple’s new Apple Pencil Pro, which can be bought separately, for $129.

As expected, the new iPad Air does not have the new Ultra Retina XDR OLED display, seen on the new iPad Pro. Instead, it comes with a Liquid Retina LED display, which has a 2,360×1,640 pixel resolution on the smaller model, and 2,732×2,048 pixel resolution on the larger variant.

Pricing is the same as before, starting at $599 and $799, respectively. The new iPad Air can be ordered today, with availability starting next week.
