I told my brother his baby’s name is stupid, it sounded like a rapper – he changed it but I still hate it

A MAN has been left horrified after his brother revealed the moniker he and his wide had picked for their unborn tot – and the bloke is not the only one to have something to say about the name.

The excited father-to-be couldn’t keep the baby’s moniker a secret for any longer – however, the grand reveal didn’t go to plan, as his mortified sibling insisted the unusual name could lead to vicious bullying at school.

Sharing the story on Reddit, the man wrote: “My brother and his wife are having their first child together this summer.

”Everyone is very excited for the baby to arrive, and I’m happy for them.”

“When my brother told me the name options for a boy or a girl, I thought the name for a girl was cute, Charlie, but was dumbfounded when he shared the name for a boy.”

Turns out, the parents-to-be had settled for ”Landon Cash”.

”I asked him if he thought the first and middle name together sounded like a name for a rapper (Landin’ Cash).”

His brother insisted that he’d never considered this connection and then raised the issue with his wife to see what she thought of the bizarre situation.

“He responded with ‘Oh! Haha, I didn’t even think of that. Yeah, maybe.’ I was still confused because he didn’t seem bothered by it at all.

”Some time has passed and it was announced they are having a boy.”

According to the horrified sibling, the couple are still ”firm on the name” – but have since decided to update the spelling to go from Landon to Landyn, as per the wife’s wishes.

Intrigued to see what fellow Redditors reckoned of the moniker, the man asked: ”So what do we think? Will my nephew get bullied for this tragedy or will his classmates think it’s cool?”

Unfortunately for the parents-to-be, it wasn’t just the husband’s brother who thought of the moniker as odd.

One user said: “Landyn is stupid. Landon Cash is meh.”

Another social media fan added: “I’ve heard a hell of a lot worse than Landon Cash but it is a silly name.”

Someone else chimed in, writing: “I have a coworker with a son named Landon. He does not get bullied.

”As for the middle name, I think it’s silly but it doesn’t matter.

”This sub puts a lot of emphasis on middle names, but in my experience, I know almost no one who uses their middle name in real life.”

Speaking of unusual monikers, recently one Gypsy woman opened up her kids’ names, including one that was after a well-known designer.

The mum-of-four, named Docherty, took to social media to share the names, leaving many TikTokers open-mouthed. 

In the video, Docherty explained that one of her daughters is called Solitaire Dior.

She said: “Solitaire is after a diamond. My granny gave me the name Solitaire, I just put Dior to it.”

Another of her daughters is called Shadora May, as Docherty continued: “Shadora means holy. I just put May onto it.

“And she’s the only girl, would you believe, in the whole entire world, called Shadora May. There’s lots of Shadoras and loads of Mays, but there’s no Shadora Mays.”
