SOAP star Natalie Anderson has been taking the phrase “chilling out” a little too literally with an ice cold dip in a bikini
She seemed to be having a blast though, with the star beaming as she posed for pictures.
“Bring on the snow!,” she wrote. “I dipped my toe into cold therapy and I actually really loved it!”
“Ok I bottled out of a Boxing Day plunge but I’m definitely out this year for some cold water dips! @happihealings you’re in charge of this!”
She also revealed it had a surprise effect on her mental health, revealing: “Anxiety is a bugger and when it’s bad making friends with the cold is a great way to curb it.
“So this year I’ll be trying to find my inner Elsa.❄️…let’s see how many cold water dips I can rack up this 2023.”
Cold therapy has become increasingly common for aching and tense muscles, reducing inflammation. As a result, athletes like footballers are known to have ice baths after training.
It’s also believed it may have a positive effect on metabolism, higher energy levels and focus.
Natalie is best known for playing Alicia Metcalfe in Emmerdale, leaving the soap in 2015 when her character left for a new life in Portugal.
