The lady who goes by Flik Shaw on social media said: “This is genuine advice because I suffer from mould and condensation in my house.

“I live in an old house, the insulation isn’t great.”

She went on to say she was struggling with mould in her wardrobe when she and her partner looked for gadgets to sort the problem.

“We found a positive input ventilation unit and it takes air from the loft and it filters it, heats it and pumps it throughout the house,” she added.

“It cost about £350 which is a bit of an investment,” but as she got her house insulated properly for free thanks to her hubby being an electrician, she decided to splurge.

Raving about the product she said that the unit had only been running for two days and already saw a noticeable difference.

She added: “We woke up this morning we had zero condensation on the window.

“I don’t think that’s ever happened and we’ve lived here for five years.”

The unit when installed looks like a subtle light on the ceiling and makes zero noise she claimed.

She added the unit name was Vent-Axia PIV for £359.

Not dealing with condensation and mould could lead to a risk of health problems says the NHS.

Being exposed to and inhaling the mould spores can cause a range of problems, including sneezing, a runny nose, red eyes and skin rash.

The NHS warned that those particularly vulnerable are people with respiratory problems, respiratory infections, allergies or asthma, as well as babies and the elderly.

The clip posted to her TikTok account @flik.shaw has since gone viral with over 160k views and over 3,000 likes.

People were quick to take to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: “Omg saving this. As a girly with an old cottage and windows running with condensation and mould on the wall. Would you need multiple for different rooms?”

“Just one on the landing should be fine but depends on the size of your house,” she responded.

Another commented: “No other developed countries with similar climate have the same mould issues as UK. the state of UK houses are shameful.”

She replied: “I mean my house was built in 1863 so I think we can let it off.”

“That’s so cheap! I’ve seen it cost between £700-1000! I’m definitely looking into it,” penned a third.

Someone else added: “We’ve had this for over a year!! AMAZING.”
