My date from hell made me do his chores and go dumpster diving, then had the cheek to show me his ‘soundproof bedroom’

FIRST dates are always a little awkward but one woman’s hilarious yet hellish experience takes the cake.

Erin Cholakian, 28, had been introduced to her date Mike through a mutual friend.

After they hit it off over an initial FaceTime call, the pair decided to go on a first date, where Mike invited her over to his place.

What Erin thought would be an amazing date, turned out to be an evening from hell, when Mike not only left her to wait while he got ready but also fitted her around his daily tasks. 

Erin, an actor from Los Angeles, couldn’t contain her shock: “I was flabbergasted. It was such an out-of-body experience,” she said.

“I had been waiting outside for 30 minutes until this man walked downstairs – after having me wait – in a tracksuit, a matching shirt, and pants.”

After waiting for him to get ready, Erin’s date then asked her to wait a little longer while he completed a home workout.

He then said they needed to go out and walk his dog and then on their return, he went on to suggest a trip to the supermarket, even preparing to make a list.

“Mike looked at me and said ‘Make yourself at home, go ahead and sit on the couch, get comfortable, I wasn’t able to fit in a workout today, so I’m going to do a quick circuit,'” she recalled.

“It’s as if I pulled up a chair at a gym and instead of working out, was just watching everybody work out.

“Mike finishes his wall set, and he’s huffing and puffing and he just looks at me and he goes, ‘Okay, we’re going to go on a walk now.’

“On the walk, his dog pooped and he didn’t bring dog bags — so he went dumpster diving for a dog bag.

“We get back to the apartment and he takes me right into his bedroom and starts showing me how ‘soundproof’ it is.”

Luckily, Erin had made it clear earlier in the evening that she’d need to be gone by 8 pm.

However, when she brought this up again, it caused Mike to pull out all the stops – reheating one of his meal-prepped dinners for later in the week.

Erin continued: “I told him at 7:30 that I had to leave by eight and when I told him that I was going to leave, it finally hit him that this was not going the way that he wanted it to go.

“He wanted me to stay longer so he started making the salmon patty that he was heating up as his meal prep leftover.”

Incredibly, Erin quickly became Mike’s “therapist” as the date was wrapping up when he confided in her about how he felt about the date.

“As if I was not the person on the date, he said that he could have done this so much better,” she said.

“He pointed at me and kept saying next time I’ll do better – next time, I’ll do better.

“I got back home and I immediately texted him, and I just laid it all out there.

“I’ve never had my time as disrespected as I did that day and I just wished him the best – but told him I’m never going to see him again.”

Despite her brutal honesty and attempt at giving him some closure, Mike didn’t quite get the hint.

“Mike tried to talk to me quite a few times after that date, it was never going to go anywhere,” she said.
