ITV fans are not happy with the latest instalment of drama After The Flood as it failed to hit the mark for a second week.
The high-stakes programme, which stars actress Sophie Rundle in the leading role, has faced criticism for its “really stupid” plot just two episodes in.
In the programme, both the police and locals are forced to deal with the fallout of a severe flash flood across Northern England which has devastating and far-reaching consequences.
During the programme’s second episode PC Jo Marshall decided to take matters into her own hands as she went against the instruction of her superiors in order to track down the relatives of a dead man located in an underground car park.
PC Marshall chose to use a genealogy website in order to discover his identity but it appeared to untangle another web of secrets.
She connected with a woman in France who had believed that her brother, who was the man PC Marshall had found, had died over five years ago.

However, many fans were left raging at the show’s plot holes as they insisted the programme was written “shockingly bad”.
They alluded to the fact the drama appeared to make little to no sense as they took to X – formerly Twitter – to air their opinions.
One person said online: “Hmm, how can we make a c**p drama seem more appealing to the masses? I know let’s drop the F-bomb every other sentence. #AfterTheFlood.”
Another person was left absolutely livid as they wrote: “Urgh. #aftertheflood started strong but now we are down to the pregnant MC making really stupid, utterly unprofessional decisions for really stupid, unconvincing reasons.

A third went onto fume: “The script and the acting are shockingly bad #aftertheflood.”
Before a fourth bluntly asked: “Good God, what is this s**t? #AfterTheFlood.”
It is the second week running that the show has faced criticism from ITV viewers after they were left slating the show upon its premiere last week.
