CORONATION Street actress Tina O’Brien revealed her frustrations playing Sarah Platt and admitted she wanted to “shake” her character – weeks before she was caught up in an explosive street brawl.
The 40-year-old made the confession when discussing the “crazy choices” Sarah has made during her time in Weatherfield.
Tina chatted to Inside Soap magazine where she divulged all on her theory that her character was going through a “mid-life crisis” on the street.
Over the last few months, Coronation Street fans have watched Sarah cheat on her husband with bad boy Damon in a slew of steamy scenes as well as deal with the fallout of her split from hubby Adam.
Reflecting on how she would react to meeting her own character Sarah, Tina said: “It’s a lot of fun [playing her] but at times I just want to shake her.
“She’s almost having a bit of a mid-life crisis and making crazy choices!”

Moreover, she expressed how she was “concerned” for Sarah amid her tumultuous love life.
The actress said: “She’s moving very fast with Damon, and if I was her friend, I’d be having words with her!
“Sarah’s impulsive, she thinks the feelings are love but maybe it’s that she’s swept up in the romance and lust. I’m concerned for her!”
Her comments came weeks before she found herself attempting to break up a fight between teenage girls near her home before throwing punches herself in a video that sent shockwaves through the coronation Street fanbase.

A source told The Sun last night: “Tina came out to break things up — but ended up joining in. At one point, it ended up three-on-one with Tina and two girls against this other lass.
“She was throwing punches and also took a few blows herself.
“Watching her on Coronation Street, you wouldn’t think in a million years she’d get involved in something like this, especially in such a public place.”
A fight was believed to have broken out among two groups of teenage girls near Tina’s home in Bramhall, where she was understood to have been plagued by problems.
Video obtained by The Sun then shows the actress grabbing one and telling her: “Get away from the f****** house.”
A separate clip shows Tina confront another youngster, said to be aged around 15.
The actress, who plays Sarah Barlow on the ITV soap, can be heard saying: “Stop, I just said ‘Stop’.” As the girl kicks out at another teen, Tina grabs her, hits her and puts her in a headlock.

Tina, wearing a stripey top, is then punched and has her hair pulled before another teen joins in the brawl.
The star and two others are also seen pushing a girl up against a VW.
