Kate Middleton cancer diagnosis news — ‘Mortified’ Blake Lively apologises for ‘silly post’ about ‘photoshop fails’

BLAKE Lively has apologised for taking part in poking fun at Kate Middleton’s “photoshop fail” following the princess’s announcement of her cancer diagnosis.

After receiving flak for her remarks, Blake is now “mortified” for having posted them in light of the terrible news of Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

The Gossip Girl star had first apologised for being “MIA” and hinted about the shots being “photoshopped” when she released fresh promotional images for her drink company.

“I’m sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this,” Blake shared. “I made a silly post around the “photoshop fails” frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I’m sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always.”

The Princess of Wales, 42, made the announcement in an emotional video message released on Friday evening, revealing that she has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment following her abdominal surgery earlier this year.

  • More apologies sent to Princess Kate after ‘ghastly’ conspiracy theories

Both Owen Jones and Blake Lively have joined the list of apologists who peddled “ghastly” Princess Kate conspiracies.

The 42-year-old Princess of Wales made the shocking announcement on Friday (March 22) and has been receiving messages of support from all over the world since.

Global leaders, celebrities, and loyal fans have flooded the palace with well wishes and now eagerly await updates on her health.

But before the announcement, social media was littered with conspiracy theories about why Kate had spent an extended period of time away from the limelight after undertaking abdominal surgery.

Hollywood star, and wife of the equally famous Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, is one of a few that have now apologised for mocking Princess Kate’s edited mother’s day photo.

She penned: “I’m sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this.

“I made a silly post around the ‘Photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today.

“I’m sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always.”

As well as Blake, left wing activist and journalist Owen Jones wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “As someone who speculated on this without considering it could be a serious health condition, I’m very ashamed to be honest, and all the very best to her.”

  • Princess Diana’s brother’s message to Kate

Along with the repost, Charles penned: “Incredible strength and poise.”

Princess Kate shared the message to the public after first sitting down and telling her three children when they broke up from school, after finishing their spring term.

She is not expected to return to any official duties until after Easter.

  • Princess Kate and Will’s ‘genuine love’ will get them through

The love between Prince William and Princess Kate will guide them through Kate’s current health struggles, experts have said.

Kate announced her recent cancer diagnosis in a video she shared to the public yesterday (March 22).

Since Princess Kate’s health has struggled, Prince William has stood by her side through every moment, stepping back from his royal duties and cancelling engagements at the last minute.

The Sun’s Royal Photographer Arthur Edwards said the love he has for Kate will help them both get through this ordeal.

He said: “Cancer is a word that scares everybody and chemotherapy is a pretty tough treatment and the body needs to be strong to withstand it.

Catherine has got great willpower and determination which I have seen up-close since the day I first photographed her.

Catherine’s statement took a lot of courage to do and she has told us that the reason she kept her cancer secret until now is for the sake of her children.

“With the support of William I’m sure they will battle through.”

Arthur continued by explaining the Waleses strength as a unit is clear and is what will keep their family going.

He added: “That genuine love between William and Kate is what will get them through her cancer ordeal.”

  • Princess Kate waited until school broke up before telling children

Princess Kate and Wills wanted to tell Prince George, 10, Prince Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, about Kate’s diagnosis after they broke up from school.

The three young Royals attend a £7,000 per term Lambrook school in Berkshire, and finished their spring term yesterday (Friday March 22).

It’s understood Princess Kate made the decision because she wanted to shield her young ones from coverage of her health.

Brave Kate revealed to the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer following her abdominal surgery earlier this year.

  • Trolls should be ‘ashamed’ after feeding Kate conspiracies

Experts have said that those involved in wild conspiracies about Princess Kate during her time out of the public eye should be ashamed of themselves.

While Kate was dealing with a health issue – which we now know was a cancer diagnosis – trolls littered social media with conspiracy theories as to where she could be.

During the storm of theories, The Sun called on the world to “lay off Kate ” when she was targeted with criticism for editing a family portrait photo, and once again after our paper exclusively revealed video of Kate and Wills at a farm shop near Windsor.

And the spreading of fake stories has been slammed by Royal experts.

Royal historian Hugo Vickers told The Sun: “Well, I would hope at a time like this, that all those people who’ve been involved in conspiracy theories are actually pretty ashamed of themselves.

“No doubt they are regretful that they’ve caused her more pain at a very difficult time.”

  • Harry and Meghan jump on ‘perfect opportunity’ to fix relationship with Kate & Wills

A royal expert has claimed Harry and Meghan have swooped on a perfect chance to mend their relationship with Prince William and Kate.

The pair shared their support in a short statement following Princess Kate’s brave video sharing her shock diagnosis.

They said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun Kate’s diagnosis is the “perfect opportunity” for Harry and Meghan to put an end to their rift with Kate and Wills.

  • Princess Kate’s diagnosis was ‘the reason’ Prince William cancelled last minute service

It’s understood that Kate’s cancer diagnosis was the reason her husband did not attend a church service in February.

He was due to attend a Thanksgiving service held in honour of Greece’s late King Constantine – but backed out due to a “personal matter”.

At the time Prince William informed the Greek Royal family that he would not be able to make it and Kensington Palace did not elaborate further but stated that Princess Kate was “doing well”.

  • Princess Kate told George, Charlotte & Louis ‘I’m going to be OK’

Princess Kate bravely told her children that she is “going to be ok” after keeping the diagnosis a secret until she felt it was the right time.

When she shared the video message to the public her voice cracked when she mentioned George, Charlotte and Louis.

In the video, she said: “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family but I have had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me for which I am so grateful.

“Most importantly it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”

  • Cancer found after abdominal surgery

Princess Kate went on to reveal that the cancer was detected after she had her abdominal surgery.

“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

  • Princess Kate reveals cancer diagnosis

In a video message released on Friday evening, Princess Kate revealed she has been diagnosed with cancer.

“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”

  • Read Kate’s statement in full, concluded

“As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.

Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.

We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.

At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”

In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should
undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to
George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.”
